The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) brought forward by the UK government is entering phase 3 with a deadline of the 5th of December 2023.

What is ESOS?

The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme requires large organisations in the UK to undertake mandatory energy audits every four years in order to identify and review any potential energy efficiency measures.

Organisations employing more than 250 employees, OR with an annual turnover in excess of £44M and annual balance sheet total in excess of £38M must instruct an ESOS lead assessor to independently audit and recommend energy saving solutions to their Board.

Our team of ESOS auditors and lead assessors have 40 years of combined experience, and an arsenal of energy saving technologies and solutions ready to help you identify and action energy savings across your organisation. ESOS audits must cover all energy consumed across the entire organisation, from buildings, industrial processes, transport and process energy usage, to identify areas of inefficient energy use and calculate its GHG emissions in line with the GHG protocol.

Our Approach

Planet Mark exists to empower progressive change and support the radical reduction of carbon emissions across organisations. Our work supports cost savings, enhances sustainability perceptions, and promotes collaboration, bringing a tailor made action-oriented approach to all of our services.

Before your ESOS audit, we will book a call with our carbon management team to fully understand your organisation, auditing needs, appetite for change and to explain the audit process, requirements, reporting and recommendation process in detail.

Site visits will allow for the development of organisational footprints, providing the insight and evidence needed for our energy management recommendations, which not only identify areas for exploration but include fully costed recommendations with payback periods for consideration by the Board.

Business Benefits

  • Reduced Energy Bills
Complying with ESOS will put your organisation in the best position to start understanding your energy consumption to build robust energy reduction strategies.
