Certification story

Bramblecrest provides an envious range of high quality, stylish garden furniture. Environmental concerns and an awareness of social standards are at the core of every day business operations. All its manufacturing activities are carried out with consideration to the environment and to the welfare of the local communities.

Among its environmental achievements, Bramblecrest is proud to be a ‘zero-to-landfill’ company where all its waste streams are disposed of in the most responsible and sustainable way. All timber furniture is covered by accreditation, and Bramblecrest is also a member of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Bramblecrest is also a member of LOFA (Leisure and Outdoor Furniture Association) and provides quality products and services in accordance with the LOFA Code of Practice.

Customers of all kinds are becoming more aware of the impact of their purchases. Businesses must be aware of the changing tide, and allow conscious customers to make financial decisions that have positive impacts on the planet. To do this, businesses must not only make the right decisions regarding sustainability but also equip themselves with the tools to communicate their environmental credentials effectively.

Steve Malkin
Founder and CEO
Planet Mark
“Bramblecrest is a business that is committed to doing things the right way. The company has already made strong commitments to sourcing environmentally friendly materials and disposing of them in the right way. Combined with a rigorous approach to carbon measurement and reduction, Bramblecrest have all the tools in place to achieve great things for their business, and for the planet. Well done to the team, I look forward to seeing future progress.”

Going beyond

Through Planet Mark, the company has protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth directly supports the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

It is also helping the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future. The company looks forward to sharing its sustainability achievements with the wider community.

Future targets

Reduce carbon emissions by at least 2.5% each year

To recertify next year Bramblecrest must reduce emissions by 2.5%.

Aim to reduce carbon emissions by 5% each year

A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
