Certification story

Eco-Eco Stationery, a company that supplies stationery products with high environmental credentials, has achieved Planet Mark certification. This is Eco-Eco Stationery’s second year of business carbon footprint reporting and Planet Mark certification. It first calculated the carbon footprint of its Stourbridge office operations for the year ending December 2018.

Achieving Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders.

Since certifying, the company will be working to reduce its emissions by 5%. Eco-Eco Stationery will be working towards measuring and reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others. By being more strategic about its environmental responsibility, the company will be able to significantly increase its positive impact and hope to encourage continual improvements within its community.

Steve Malkin
CEO
Planet Mark
“The results from Eco-Eco this year are astounding. The company serves as a shining example to all industries in how business can be done in an ethical, environmentally conscious manner. I congratulate the team on such an impressive reduction in emissions this year. Everyone can learn from Eco-Eco’s methods and passion to do more for the planet.”

Eco-Eco’s aim is to instil confidence in its customers that buying an eco-eco product means buying a product that has been responsibly and ecologically sourced whilst managing to retain the affordability. Sustainability is embedded into Eco-Eco’s process and ethos, from sourcing materials to minimising packaging and using low-carbon couriers, the whole process is carefully considered from an environmental perspective.

Companies branded as ecological alternatives must be rigorous when measuring environmental impacts. Sustainable products represent some of the fastest growing emerging markets, with many companies proclaiming environmental credentials. However, this must be paired with genuine action. A carbon-reduction policy with clear and measurable targets can help ethical brands demonstrate the results of their hard work.

Future targets

Reduce carbon emissions by at least 2.5% each year

To recertify next year Eco-Eco Stationery must reduce emissions by 2.5%.

Aim to reduce carbon emissions by 5% each year

A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
