Certification story

International law firm, Lewis Silkin work with leading businesses to protect & enhance their ideas, people, and future. Bravery and kindness is at the core of the company and everything they do. It’s corporate social responsibility programme is an example of how its community and colleagues come together to showcase these values.

As part of their mission, Lewis Silkin is dedicated to reducing its environmental footprint and associated emissions across energy and resource efficiency, waste management, business travel and supply chain management.

The company have already implemented activities across its premises to reduce their footprint. From Automatic PC shutdowns to increasing LED usage to zero-landfill policy in London. Where ever possible, they assess the environmental impact of any new products and favour greener and efficient products.

Looking to strengthen their environmental credentials, Lewis Silkin are working with Planet Mark to further reduce their environmental impact and share its journey with its community to inspire others.

Understanding and measuring its carbon footprint is the first step in identifying ways to minimise its impact on the planet. By being more strategic about its environmental responsibility, it will be able to increase its positive impact significantly and hopes to encourage continual improvements within its community.

Through Planet Mark, the company has protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth directly supports the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

It has also helped the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
