Certification story

NCC Group, a global cyber security business has achieved the Planet Mark certification. In this crucial Decade of Action, the company wants to ensure that it is a force for good: positively transforming society and the planet by measuring its own impact on the environment. Understanding and measuring its carbon footprint is the first step in identifying ways to minimise its impact on the planet.

Achieving Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders. Over the next year, the company will be working towards measuring and reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others.

Through Planet Mark, NCC Group has protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

It has also donated to the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.

Future targets

Reduce carbon emissions by at least 2.5% each year

To recertify next year NCC Group must reduce emissions by 2.5%.

Aim to reduce carbon emissions by 5% each year

A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
