Certification story

Perfect Sense Energy a supplier of LED Lighting, Far Infrared Heating, Solar PV technologies and energy saving experts, has achieved Planet Mark certification. Its philosophy is simple – help businesses to Buy Better, Use Less and Generate Their Own Energy. In this crucial Decade of Action, the company wants to ensure that they are a force for good: positively transforming society and the planet by measuring its own impact on the environment. The company recently released its Green Game Changers resource guide, designed to help businesses understand net zero and establish a growth-focused sustainability strategy.

This is Perfect Sense Energy’s first year of business carbon footprint reporting and Planet Mark certification. Since certifying to Planet Mark, the company has set a target to reduce emissions by 5% annually.

Through Planet Mark, Perfect Sense Energy has protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

It is also helping the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future. The company is looking forward to sharing its sustainability achievements with the wider community.

Steve Malkin
Founder and CEO
Planet Mark
“ As energy saving experts, Perfect Sense Energy has a responsibility to walk the walk on sustainability. The company already does so much to reduce its emissions, including using its own technology to the fullest. By teaming up with Planet Mark, the team will have rigour and measurement to complement their innovative progress. Well done to Perfect Sense Energy, I look forward to working together more in the future.”

Perfect Sense Energy is a preferred supplier for sustainable solutions by many. As a Carbon Trust Accredited Supplier, the company went through a rigorous process to become accredited at a high sustainable standard. Perfect Sense Energy is also a member of the Low Carbon Network, and part of the Greater Manchester Growth Hub. These accreditations give access to grants and funding and also gives its clients peace of mind that they are working with a reliable, trustworthy and knowledgeable company.

Perfect Sense Energy is also making efforts to practice what we preach by monitoring and reducing its own carbon footprint. The company feels it is important to lead by example. By moving into its own property in 2019 and installing Solar PV, LED Lighting, Far Infrared Heating and EV Charging, the company is able to deploy all of its technologies to improve efficiency. Perfect Sense Energy also now works with its sister company Energise Contracting for project installation. The fleet consists of hybrid PHEV vehicles, and the company is now switching to fully electric cars – charged at the office efficiently by its own Solar PV system.
